The award was presented to Dr. Wallen by Rolf Schlake, President of Applied Separations, at the American Chemical Society Green Chemistry and Engineering Conference on June 15, 2017.
Dr. Wallen has extensive teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels including courses focused on organic/bioanalytical laboratory and spectroscopic analysis with sections on calibration and validation of analytical instruments, methods, standards and data handling.
The grant award consists of a Spe-ed SFE Prime Supercritical Fluid instrument, designed specifically for use in the college classroom / lab, and supporting materials.
