Dry Aerogels at Low Temperatures

Spe-ed SFE-2 for Aerogel Drying
Applied Separations has optimized equipment and a low temperature aerogel drying process that uses carbon dioxide as the solvent for the displacement and extraction of organic solvents from an alcogel. The drying process can be conducted at temperatures as low as 35°C.

This low temperature technique eliminates the safety hazards associated with the high temperature conversion of a liquid organic solvent to the supercritical state with subsequent venting of the supercritical solvent at temperatures above 250°C.

Be Safe!

Use the technique the experts use!
